Be sure to get down to The Epstein Theatre this July as there is a whole host of fantastic performances on offer. With end of year showcases, comedy nights, live performances and musicals, there really is something for everyone.
Go on an epic journey through dance, music and drama on Wednesday July 5 with Wigan and Leigh College: End of Year Showcase. Expect contemporary and lyrical dance, well-loved and devised acting pieces, stunning vocalists, as well as show-stopping musical theatre numbers from top West End shows that will be choreographed by former West End leading actor Graham Tudor. To top it all off, this magical performance will be compered by Wigan-born Hollyoaks actor, Helen Noble.
Get ready to do the ‘bend and snap’ as LHK Youth Theatre present Legally Blonde: The Musical on Friday July 7 and Saturday July 8. Based on the hit movie, the show tells the story of college sweetheart Elle Woods, who tries to win her ex-boyfriend back by getting a law degree! Find out what happens to Elle when she finds herself defending a work-out queen in a murder trial... will Blonde save the day? Complete with memorable songs and dynamic dances, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal.
The Heath Performing Arts Academy in association with LIPA 4:19 are delighted to be back for the third year to present their end of year musical theatre and dramatic showcase, Spectacular. Join them for an evening of wonderful entertainment on Sunday July 9.
An Audience With Stan Boardman will give a fascinating insight into Stan’s life and growing up in Liverpool when it arrives onstage on Saturday July 15. From Scottie Road and being bombed out by the Germans during the War, this unscripted show will be unique and entertaining, and Stan will document his struggles and successes. Along with the laughs, for the very first time the show will give a fascinating insight into Stan's life and growing up in Liverpool.
Tread is delighted to be celebrating its 10th anniversary at The Epstein Theatre with Tread 10th Anniversary Showcase on Sunday July 16. The show features an incredible fusion of work from the past 10 years as well as new and exciting material! Promising fabulous performances which will showcase the immense talent Tread have at their academies across the North West.
Wrapping things up this July is Gary Murphy’s Guitar Legends – The Rock and Roll Years, a show you will not want to miss on Thursday July 27. Performed by Gary and his multi-talented band, the story is narrated by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Billy Butler, who gives an insight into the lives and songs of some of our best loved guitar heroes including Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Duane Eddy, The Shadows, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Gilmour, Albert Lee, Angus Young and many more.
Theatre manager Rebekah Pichilingi commented: “There’s plenty to choose from this July as we welcome a whole host of talent to The Epstein Theatre.
